A person who conducts a stand-alone child care service in their home is taken to be carrying on a regulated business.
Regular visitors, adult residents of a family day care service and adult occupants of a home in which a stand-alone care service is provided
Regular visitors, adult residents of a family day care service and adult occupants of a home in which a stand-alone care service is being provided may apply for a blue card/ exemption card as a volunteer.

New forms for 'child care services & similar employment' & 'education and care services & similar employment'
The Commission's forms have changed to align with the Education and Care Services National Law (Queensland) Act 2011, mandated on 1st January 2012.
To minimise any delays to the processing of applications, the most current version of the application form must be completed and lodged with the Commission. Delays to processing may also occur if the application form is incomplete or if details are not legible.

When can I start working with children?
Paid employees can commence regulated child-related work after they have lodged a completed application with the Commission.
Volunteers and business operators must hold a valid blue card before they can commence regulated child-related work.
