Blue light disco association

I am a volunteer at the Queensland Blue Light Association Incorporated – do I need a blue card?

Yes, unless exempt under the 'churches, clubs and associations' category of regulated employment.

You need a blue card if your work includes, or is likely to include, providing services or conducting activities directed mainly towards children at a church, club, association or similar entity, unless an exemption applies.

Please note, a person engaged by the Queensland Police Service under section 5AA.3 of the Police Service Administration Act 1990 who is performing a function under section 2.3 of the Police Service Administration Act 1990 is exempt and does not require a blue card under this category.

You can apply for a blue card by submitting a 'Volunteer (V) application' form (PDF, 286KB) and selecting the 'churches, clubs and associations' category of regulated employment.

Please note, as a volunteer you must not commence child-related work until after you have received a blue card. For more information, please check the blue card requirements for volunteers and students.
