Work experience students

I am an employer who is providing guidance to a student as part of their high school work experience program. Do I need a blue card?

No.

Employers who provide help or guidance to a child as part of the child's employment are not captured under the Commission's categories of regulated employment and do not require a blue card.

I am an employer in a child related industry and will be taking on a student for their high school work experience. Does the student need a blue card to work with children?

No.

School students who are sampling or experiencing employment in a child-related industry do not require a blue card as the work experience is a private arrangement between the school and the relevant organisation and there is no direct employment relationship between the student and the organisation.
