Individual users can minimise the risk of encountering objectionable material by:

  • Developing guidelines for use of personal computers in the home
  • Installing filtering devices such as Netnanny, Norton Security or similar programs; and,
  • Reporting objectionable sites of material to the Australian Broadcasting Authority, the government body responsible for governing broadcast material in Australia, whether it is radio, TV, magazines or newspapers or the Internet.
