Volunteer assisting children and young people through a school, church, club, association or sport and recreation facility

I am a volunteer who assists children and young people participating in The Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Do I need a blue card?

Yes.

If you are a volunteer working in a school, church, club, association or sport and recreation facility, you will need to apply for a blue card through your volunteer organisation by completing a Volunteer Employment (V) Application Form and ticking the category of regulated employment relevant to you child-related activity.

Note

You must hold a blue card before you begin volunteer work, regardless of how often you come into contact with children and young people.
