Frequently Asked Questions

Self Employed contractor going into a child care centre

I own and operate my own business which includes maintenance work at a child care centre. Do I need a blue card?

Yes.

You need a blue card if the services you provide are carried out, or likely to be carried out, at a child care centre while child care is being provided.

You can apply for a blue card by submitting a Child Care Business (CCB) Application Form accompanied by the prescribed fee.

Note

A person carrying on a child-related business must hold a blue card before they can begin the child-related activity.
