Directors of a Non-State School governing body

I am a registered teacher and I want to become a director of a Non-State school’s governing body. Do I need a blue card?

 Yes.

Under the Education (Accreditation of Non-State Schools) Act 2001, each director of a governing body is required to hold a current blue card. There is no exemption for registered teachers.

You can apply for a blue card by submitting a Business (B) Application Form accompanied by the prescribed application fee.

Note
You must hold a blue card before you commence employment as a director of a Non-State school governing body.

For more information, please contact the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board on 07 3237 9947.
