Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Commission provide support to help particular types of employment and regulated business to develop a Risk Management Strategy?

Yes. The Commission provides free half day workshops around the state. In addition, organisations can negotiate for an ‘extension workshop’ to help them apply the risk management framework to their particular setting. Three hour workshops can be arranged for 15 people or more, costing $20 per volunteer or $50 per paid employee. Group rates can also be negotiated.

The Commission is developing templates to help certain types of regulated employment and businesses get risk assessment processes and documentation in place. However, templates are only a guide, and are no substitute for people learning, planning, implementing and monitoring their own risk management policies.

The resources provided in the Commission’s workshops are flexible enough for any type of employment or business to adapt to their needs. They include sample forms and registers and training activity sheets for planning, risk assessment and evaluation.
