How long does it take before I should check the progress of my application?
As a guide, you should allow a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks for the processing of your blue card application to ensure sufficient time to obtain the information necessary to conduct the Working with Children Check.
If you have been requested to provide additional information subsequent to lodging your application or have a criminal history your application may take longer to process.
If you are concerned that you have not heard from the Commission after 6 to 8 weeks and you have not been requested to provide further information or have a criminal history, you are welcome to contact us on 1800 113 611 or 3247 5145.

For your convenience the Blue Card Contact Centre operates from 8 to 5 Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
However to maintain our service commitment to you, we conduct staff training and development:
- On the second Friday of each month between 8am and 9am; and
- On the last Friday of each month from 8am to 10am.
