Indigenous Child Placement Principle Audit update
The Commission has made significant progress on its Indigenous Child Placement Principle Audit for 2010. The audit is assessing the Department of Communities’ compliance section 83 of the Child Protection Act 1999 and the extent to which connections with family, community and culture have been maintained for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children placed in out-of-home care. CREATE
The Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner met with representatives of CREATE on 11 January. This was the first of their quarterly meetings for 2010 which provide opportunities to discuss work they have completed or which is in progress to improve outcomes for young people in care. Read more
