The Commission’s child death review function commenced in 2004. Since then, we have maintained the Queensland Child Death Register which contains contemporary evidence-based child death data.
As part of the Commission’s ongoing collaborative work with researchers and service providers on child death prevention, child death data since 2004-05 has been developed by the Commission to assist stakeholders to analyse the prevalence of child deaths and inform prevention strategies.
The Commission will continue to add further data here as part of our commitment to collaboration and engage critical stakeholders to work together to promote actions to reduce childhood injuries and fatalities.

The Commission’s annual report series, Snapshot: Children and Young People in Queensland, reports on the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people in Queensland. The Snapshot reports can be found on the Reports page.
